1998 S70 heater ?'s

My wife came home and says the heater doesn't blow. The fan motor doesn't seem to turn and you can not hear it doing anything. what is my first step?

See if manually setting the fan speed causes the fan to come on. If still no, I suspect either the power relay that is next to the fan or the fan itself. Post back and let us know. These are not very difficult to get out and replace (either one).

When you turn the selector to defrost, it turns to A/C.

That's normal to dehumidify the windshield...does the fan blow though when you do this?
