V50 acting bizarre - help!

Possessed V50!
Never seen anything like this. Got back in my car after going to an event - turned it on and the windshield wipers immediately are going full speed and I cannot stop them. Everything on the dashboard is weird - says caution no brakes, odometer is wacky, says I need service etc. I drive Ok a short distance home and go to turn the key off and it won't turn all the way (the wipers still going). My husband opened the hood and disconnected the battery so at least the wipers would stop. The key still won't come out. He said that the brake fluid was very low. We have to get it towed tomorrow and see what is going on but has anyone heard of anything like this before?
