Below is a picture of a non-contacting unit (left) and original MM design (right).First thing, on their site they say that they will install a Digital Angle Sensor in place of film resistor but they don't show any pictures of it.

Here is your answer.Second thing, on Ebay they say that they will rebuild your ETM;
"Complete unit will be re-assembled and permanently sealed".
They have to open it to get to the electronics. The end opposite the motor has to be replaced with their end cap and electronics
At this time it looks like we now have the 4th R (see http://VEXEDvolvo.org) which is REDESIGN. I see no reason to give this XeMODeX ETM other than an A+. Since the rest of the Magnettl Marelli ETM is of excellent construction, and this replaces the only part that is subject to wear this should be considered a life-of-the-car module.
Picture of the ETM "Bench testing”- Just kidding. Anything is possible, how you ask? Well… just think outside the box.Third thing, "Your throttle then will be bench tested to insure proper operation".How do they bench test these? I don't believe they can simulate the communication between the ECM and the ETM if the are not matched by software...
