'93 850GLT Lower Radiator Hose

Post by itsdug »

Is it easier than it looks to replace? This thing is 30+ inches long! Obviously just a couple of hose clamps, but it snakes its way through a ton of other stuff. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Take pictures as you take it out to make sure you snake it in the right places. My biggest issue when I did this was that both ends leaked slightly....I had to keep adjusting the new hose and tightening the clamps to get it to have a good seal. Be careful on the radiator side- it's plastic where it attaches and it's not hard to crack it from clamping down to much.

Thanks. I think I'll save this project until Monday so that I don't ruin my weekend!

It is, if you take out the air box.

Yea!

It looks more intimidating than it actually is.

Now for the hard part - what to do with the old antifreeze?

I tried to dump it off at Advance Auto Parts and they pretty much sent the bouncer to the door to greet me. I think I have at least 10 gallons of it in various containers in the garage.

City waste management services, I recon.
Btw, this thread ended up being about where to take your spent fluids, so I started another thread and merged those posts to that one. Look for it...I've moved it to the announcement category so it ends up in all sections.
