242DL Tail Lights

I am at a loss here folks, I have searched the endless reaches of the interwebs, and found the sites that show they carry my much wanted '75-'79 tail lights, when they actually have not carried them for over a year or two yet haven't updated their webpage.

So my question is this...

If I cannot ever find my tail lights (part numbers 121702 and 121703 for the lenses, or 1234105 and 1234106 for the whole assembly) Can the tail lights that go on the next model year of the 242, 1980, be able to fit with minor customization???

I want the four panel lenses, but cannot find them , and from what I see the five panel lenses look very close to what the assembly looks like on the back of my lenses... so I am hoping they will fit.

Can any of you brilliant volvo enthusiasts show this noob the light?

I think it will need more than minor customization as the later lights wrap around on to the side of the body.

They are agents for several new and used Volvo parts dealers most of whom would ship to the US. Check to see what, if any, import charges you may incur.

Thanks for those sites, I just sent a part inquiry to the uk site. They have 5 companies notified of my part I need and they said I'll either get a call or an email on whether or not they have them or not.
