S80 2002 Lights

Is there a way of making the Volvo S80 cut out/off lights, if I switch off the engine? In most cars, there is warning beep but the S80 does not emit this sound.

I believe that's a setting that can be programmed by the dealer- hate to say it, but it will cost you the price of the download plus probably an hour's labor charge (most won't break things down to minutes- although it probably only takes them 15 minutes, max). Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Not sure I follow...when you turn off the key, do the headlights not turn off? Even after a minute? They should turn off after 30 seconds.

If they do, and you want to set it to zero, you'll have to ask your dealer or another shop with VIDA to set the home safe delay to 0. This doesn't require a software download, but does require a VCT2000/DiCE box and VADIS/VIDA in order to change this setting.

When I turn the ignition key to off, the fog lights would go off immediately. The main lights/parking lights remain ON.

That's the way they are...
I was mistaken about the software download (apparently), but you can ask your dealer to change this setup.

Well, only partially, S60/V70s require software, as do post-04 S80s and S/V40/50s

Thanks all. I will need to purchase the VCT2000/DiCE and do it myself. That is pretty much configuration. I am an IT expert and I think it is do-able. I will let you know when I am done.

Out of interest, what parameters can be turned on/off or set using the VADIS? I want to see the worthiness of getting the VTC2000/DICE. If there are many, I am going for it.
