S60 2003 Wheel noise.

Post by BremX »

I recently bought a 2003 S60 D5. While driving between 50 and 60 Mph there is a humming noise coming from the front passenger side wheel. However if i go above 60 the noise becomes quieter again. Also if i brake from over 65 there is some vibration in the steering wheel. Any suggestions on if it is one problem or many? Thanks

Welcome to MVS.

Warped rotors, wheel bearing, imbalanced wheel, or combination of all.

Always work from simple/inexpensive to complex/expensive, so in that vein, have the wheels balanced and report back.

Without more info, that's about the best I can recommend. If you can inspect the front passenger wheel, inside and out, you might find a wheel weight coming off.

Good news is that none of those three culprits are serious or expensive, especially if you do it yourself.
