Volvo 960 radio shows "repeat", not possible to enter code

Hi, I'm having troubles with my volvo 960 (1994) radio. I had serious electricity problems recently and after everything was finally fixed, the radio does not let me enter the code any more. Whenever I turn it on now, it just shows "repeat" and there's nothing i can do, no possibility to enter the code. I tried to let the ignition on for more than 24 hours as I read that this can reset the radio but it didn't do anything, other than draining the battery ;(

any suggestions?? I appreciate your help,

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

You have obviously done a search on this as you quote 24 hours but the handbook actually says 2 hours.

I would query

The ignition key should only be turned to position 1. Was that where you had it as it shouldn't drain the battery in position 1 unless you left something else switched on?

thanks for the reply. i finally made it i turned the radio on and off numerous times until all of a sudden it let me enter the code. enter entered the right one and it started to display "off". From that on I managed to follow the regular way . ignition position 1 for 2 hours - code - hapiness
