Rear passenger (right) window won't go up (stuck)

I put the windows down from the master control panel, and then all three but the rt rear pass. window went up; so stupid me decided to try and get it to go down some more. I went down further but STILL won't go back up. I tried the switch on the R.R passenger door and pulling up on the window at the same time but still won't budge.

I have a feeling that the regulator is broken; can someone please tell me how to remove the panelling from the interior without damaging (preferably a picture!).

It's really very easy...there are clips around the perimeter of the panel....just use a blunt knife, like a butter knife and pull straight out...try to move the knife in close to the clips. Then you'll have to unscrew a screw in the door handle (the part you use to close the door) and also the plastic trim piece around the latch (what you use to open the door) that just pulls out- use the blunt knife again to get under it. Sorry, no pictures, but it's very simple. Once you get everything loose, push up and towards you and the panel will come off. To test the door window motor itself, use a car or lawnmower battery directly to the connector (you'll have to pull it apart to get to the 2 prongs)....good luck and let us know if the motor is bad. Since this is a 2000 model, there's no way to take the motor out (unlike the 850's)- you'll have to get it as one entire assembly including the scissor lift mechanism- they're not expensive on eBay.

It just seems like pulling the door panel is the long way around.
There's more of a chance to damage clips, trim and window seals, etc.
You can pull the switches from the top, get a meter and a wiring
diagram and do it all from there. Just sayin'...

Okay...you are probably correct.
I did mine with my panel off because I was in the midst of replacing a rear window anyway. Btw, if anyone needs an untinted rear (driver's side) window for an 850/x70 (first gen), I have one...

The motor isn't bad; I did pull apart the door panel but I think I snapped off a few of those "white" clip heads that go into the door panel holding the facia into it. Where can I get them to replace? The Motor I can hear, trying to go down when I hit the down action (more of a buzzing sound from a stuck motor but there is motion from when I do that) but when the window is told to go up there is no noise coming from the motor. Not even the buzzing sound.

I have a feeling the regulator is stuck or stripped or come off the track and even though I tried will all my gusto last night to remove the blasted thing from the door panel, it still wouldn't budge. There are 9 hexangonal screws holding it in (one that is inaccessible without removing the speaker) and one large screw in the middle but I have a feeling that the head for that screw is in between the panel and the motor assembly (i.e. in the space that I can't see) and I'm unable to remove the large silver assembly that houses everything so I have NO idea how to get the bloody window up.

So far I've jury-rigged a litter bag and duck tape lattace style rigging on it, holds up well until 30mph then unless you equalize the pressure a high freq. noise starts making its way into your headache forming head and -- it's annoying

If you're trying this using the switches, that is probably your problem. These switches FAIL!
If you haven't taken MIJ's advice and tried raising the window with
12 volts applied directly to the motor,
you're just wasting your time...

You can make every connection needed to diagnose this issue
from the window switch plugs. Have at it!

The part number is Volvo 9182897, fairly cheap from the dealer.
