s70 1999 Newbie General question

Post by lilah321 »

I recently purchased a 1999 s70 and i have been having problems with its drivability. Its seem like the car does not have enough power.I have to press very hard to get to 50mph,also when i barke, the car acts like it want to die..look like the fuel or something, not sure.I recently went for an oil change and found out that my timing belt was almost broken and i had to replace that right away which was a lot of money.I would like to know the possible reason to see if it something i can fix by myself.

Could be bad timing.
When they replaced your timing belt,it's very possible that they didn't done it well!
Did you had these symptoms before timing belt replacement?
Was there missing teeth on the old timing belt?

How many miles on your car? Is it a turbo? Who "fixed" the timing belt? Is the "check engine light" on? What grade of gasoline do your use, 87-89-92?

Is your check engine light on?If it is,read the codes and post'em.Otherwise it's just guessing.

I have about 134,000miles on the car, the check light engine came on one once and later went off so i was not able to read the codes.I had the timing belt done volvo certified mechanic. The car stalls every time i get to stop light or brake but has never actually, looks like somthing that has to do with the fuel but not sure.

Fuel air ratio is determined by a number of factors. You may have a vacuum leak, the air hose that goes from the air cleaner to the throttle might be loose, your plugs may need replacement, and you might have a clogged fuel filter.
