Re: Engine temp question

Post by Ozark Lee »

Does it mean my engine is running cold.
It may be running cold or the ECT sensor may just think it is running cold. S.O.P. is to change the ECT sensor and the thermostat at the same time. How long does it take to get up to the temperature gauge levels that you note?

You could have messed up a wire in your pcv adventure.
Take a good look at the wires and connections for the coolant temp sensor.

It takes 7 to 9 min of driving. I was driving on the highway going with the flow and the needle was around 3:30, when the traffic stopped for a while the needle went up and stayed on 3:00 for the rest of the commute.

I've never measured the time but within 2-3 miles mine is up to temp and stays at 3:00 (all of my Volvo's).

What could I mess up? I only disconnected idle control valve connector and throttle body connector.
