That one looks like it would be perfect, and very reasonably priced too.vegasjetskier wrote:You're welcome.

Bajaman, I wonder if you could straighten the bent arm and then weld some reinforcement along the edge?
Also, I think it would be prudent to look for the cause of the window binding up in the first place. It must have really been stuck to cause the arm to bend like that. If you don't correct it, the new regulator will probably suffer the same fate.

Here's a PDF of the VADIS procedure. It's for the driver's door, so it's a mirror image of what you're working on:

Yeah, I was thinking that same thing. WHY did it do it in the first place? I do think I will try to repair the existing one after I find out what was causing the bind.

SUCCESS! I was able to straighten on the arm once I took it out and then re-installed it, lubed up the window channel, and all is well again.
Thanks so much for all the help.
Here is a picture of the riveter that I bought, as well as the rivets. I was not able to get the factory rivets but found some that worked admirably well, from a company called SUREBONDER. These are multi-fit rivets that worked really well.

Just wondering what you and perhaps others use for lubing the window slides.
This was done on one of my doors/windows by the dealer for the previous owner but would like to save the labor cost if and when I need to do it but would like to know what specific type of lube to use i.e. probably not axle grease??

I got the riveter from a specialty tool store locally, paid $60 for it. There are others out there of the same design for half that price if you search around a bit.
For the lube, I used Liquid Wrench white lithium grease in the spray can. Use care to keep it from getting on...EVERYTHING..., and a little dab'l do ya!
This forum is awesome.
