V70 2002 faulty outside air temp guager
Occasionally the OAT guage on the centre console such as -4 degrees when its 25. this then cause the car's airconditioner to heat rather than cool the inside of the car. Is there a sensor I can easily replace or do I need help from a dealer?
I am not certain WHERE it is locate don the 02 V70, but the Ambient Air Sensor, should be a fairly easy part to change. What you are experiencing has happened to me on 3 previous cars.. none Volvo's. But I have never paid more than$75 for an AAS. They usually run around $40-ish.

I've got a 98 S70, the ambient air temp sensor is located down near the fog lights. I think that is attached into the back of one of the grille inserts down there. Not sure if they moved it, but it should be located somewhere where it will get air flow that isn't too close to the engine/radiator.

On the P2 V70's ('01 and newer) the ambient temp sensor is in the side mirror cover (can't remember if it's the passenger side or driver's).
