in cold weather it surges
I bought a 1999 S80 from my daughter last July. In warm weather it ran fine, then in cold weather it started to surge when engine changed from running cold to being warmed up. The engine speed would drop noticeably when come back up with a slight surge, it would do this 2, sometimes 3 times, taking off from a stop. Always about the same distance from a cold start. On cold days it would be about 2 mile from home, on warn days it would do it in a few blocks. If it were an old car, I’d say it was an automatic choke problem. After the engine was warm it stopped. My daughter had the same problem and said her Volvo shop put in a new gas pedal(??) And said it was a recall matter. My Volvo shop put in 2 coils and new plugs and said it was a recall matter (10yr 200,000mi ETM recall) I took it to the Volvo dealer and, of course, they said there was nothing wrong with my car. When I left the dealer, I drove a half mile down the road, it did again. It seems to only do it when the engine goes from running cold to being warmed up. But it is getting worst with time. What do you think?

Did you check with the/a dealer to see if all updates had been done to the software?
