I got my car's emissions inspections (required for the state of VA) today, and it failed. The CO readings are 1.75ppm at 15mph while the maximum allowed is .70ppm. Also the HCppm was something like 2.03 while the max is about 1.8 or so. (I honestly can't remember the exact numbers for the HC). I replaced the spark plugs earlier today and then got it inspected. After I got home I took a look at the distributor, and I saw the cap and rotor was bad, so I replaced those too, but I'm not to sure if I want to test it again yet, because it costs $28. If you anything else I can do to make my numbers go down, I would greatly appreciate it.

OXYGEN SENSOR...I JUST BOUGHT A 244 GL AND THE SELLER TOLD ME IT WON'T PASS EMISSIONS UNLESS I REPLACE THE OXYGEN SENSOR.
Here in Sweden we have our own secret way of passing the test. I suppose you can buy carburettor spirit, or whatever you call it. The stuff you pore into the fuel to get rid of water in the tank and avoid the carburettor from frezing (in the old days when you had carburettors). At least in the test we have for CO, almost every car will pass the test with 1 litre of that spirit if you have 20 litres in the tank. It is not to expencive, and it can not do any harm.
