Programming Remote Doorlocks...ever have this happen?

Post by UncleBoost »

Been battling this monster for months.
Tried programming the remotes per procedure~ 5 times ign on, set buttons on 5th power on.....Never would work for me. Had the transmitters tested @ the dealer and they proved working.

Saturday, I decided to try them again. This time i did something different.
After I programmed them per procedure, I opened the drivers door, closed it and locked the door manually which locks all of them. Pushed the "Unlock" button on remote and to my surprise it unlocked the doors!!!
Whoa! I was a happy camper. Tried it again with another remote I could never get to program and it worked as well. Question is, is closing the door and locking it manually part of the procedure? If not should it be since it worked for me?
I had replaced the control module and the master locking Relay in the past with no luck. I was beginning to think I had a wiring problem.
I had 5 transmitters i was working with. I only tried this with 2 and they work. Will try the other 3 later. Anyone need a keyfob transmitter?

I am now down to only 3 things not working on my 94 855t now. The drivers side seat heater not woking (Saw a broken red/yellow wire up under the seat yesterday that goes up into the cushion). The seat memory Relay clicks when I push 1, 2, or 3 but nothing moves...(Saw a poteniometer wire unplugged under seat as well.) And the CRuise control. I will save it for last. I will post as I have success.

Hope this was useful.

The way from the book worked for me. And on the fifth turn if you watch the red led in the center of the dash it will illuminate.

what I have left is a remote with the PANIC / lock Unlock buttons, I have a remote with the side by side Lock and Unlock (what I use), and a Pair with the Lock unlock Trunk release. Your choice $20/ea + ship. I paid much more than that trying to figure out why my system wouldn't work. I have probably bought 10 remotes already.

Do you know what years the fobs are supposed to work with? I would be interested in one if it will work with a 96 850 GLT Wagon built in 08/95. Thanks!

Do you still have a good one that you would like to part with? I am interested. Also, can you tell me if the buttons are over-under or side-by-side on the fob? I don't know if there is a difference or not, I am still trying to figure this all out. If it helps, I have a 96 850 GLT Wagon with an alarm. Thanks, my email is [email protected] if you want to email me there.
