ODB II(?) Interface

Post by VolvoFreak »

I'm trying to find a cable which will interface my laptop with the diagnostics port on my '93 850glt. Is there such a beast? If so, does anyone have a link to where I can buy one? Thanks 8)

Your car is OBD-I. There is a Volvo Scan tool that hooks in to the diagnostics port under the hood that I believe can also be configured to work with a lap-top. One small problem: It's about $1800 USD.

You can read codes without any tools. It's a port under your hood by the windshield fluid reservoir. Post back if you need me to find the thread on how to do it.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

Yea, I found the thread last night, thanks.. I just REALLY wanted to hook this up to my lappy - I guess mostly for the Geek factor. ;)
