S60 T5 2002 Engine seems to not accelerate properly

When accelerating with turo engagd between 3000rpm and 6000rpm the engine accerates then seems to stop then accelerates again its as if the Turbo is not in all the time or the car is not breathing properly - any ideas as to fault /cause and repair.

Check your air filter as well as your plugs... when the air filter gets dirty or plugs are worn, these things can happen.
