rear window adhesive came loose

The car is a 2000, convertible, soft top. 89,000 miles. The adhesive has come loose all across the top of the glass rear window - currently held in place with towels.
Not a permanent solution. Two local shops have declined to work on a Volvo, and we are scared of the $ at the dealer. What would you do?
