2000 S40 1.9T Engine surging at low speeds

Post by tbarkdull »

I have a 2000 S40 1.9T with a recent issue, The engine began surging, most at stop lights and at low speeds. Afew days later it began missing out during acceleration. After reading post here I replaced the spark plugs, and coils. Also replaced Thermostat (little heat) as well. Car runs great now but still surges. From reading here, it sounds like PCV or vacuum problem. All help is appreciated. Thanks

It could be the ETM (check out that section on this board). Do you get any specific trouble codes?

After some considerable reading here, I tried the cheapest fix first. Replaced the air filter. All Is well now.
