When I turn the ignition to III I hear a slight grunting from the glove box every 17-19 seconds. I hear it while driving on quiet roads. I am fairly certain it is not the CD changer. It sounds some flap is trying to open or close.
any idea?

Most probably it is the flap that lets outside air in the car. It is behind and above the glove box and it is actuated by a small eletric motor. If you have automatic control A/C, probably what you hear is the flap being operated under command from the control unit.
Good luck

Auto A/C. That would explain why the A/C button comes on when I start the car. Since my A/C currently does not work (Accumulator) Is there a way to shut off this auto A/C situation?
Even when I start the car, I press the A/C button but the A/C lite button will not go off.

Well, my answer was in the owner's manual. Auto a/c happens when you have the venting position on the defrost and turn on the car. If it is on the floor, front vents or combo it does not turn on the auto a/c.
