Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

S80 T6, 1999, Fuel Door won't unlock

Post by rbdavismd »

My fuel door won't unlock. Is there a quick way to get the lock to release, so I can refuel?

Not sure, but I think there might be a release behind the trunk liner. Turn the knob on the liner and pull it in toward the center of the trunk.
.

My dealer showed me how to release the lock, pending ordering a part. Pull back the felt covering in the right side of the trunk, after turning the knob. There is a yellow rectangular solenoid mounted on the sheet metal near the fuel door, with a wiring cable entering it. Disconnect the cable from the solenoid by pulling it. The fuel tank cover will unlock. The cover will be held closed by the spring.
