2002 S80 T6 - Buzzing noise near console area

Whenever I enter the car while the car is not started, I hear
a buzzing noise. I have determined it is seemingly emanating
from the console's environmental temperature sensor. I
determined this by blowing on it directly, then it seemingly
stopped buzzing as loudly.

Is this normal?

There's a small fan there that pulls air in across the sensor.

It can be kind of annoying at times, but you get used to it. It doesn't run all the time in my car, but I can really hear it when I open the door and get inside.

Ha ha Gents, so that's what makes that annoying buzzing sound!!!

It drives me crazy, is it possible to lubricate the fan???
It's making a right racket, I have to turn the radio up pretty loud to drown it out

It's an incredibly easy fix! It's a little fan inside of the climate control unit that becomes clogged/imbalanced from dust over the years. I've got some pictures of it I can upload, but the actual fix was easy and free.

Mine started buzzing. I saw the dust on the wire behind the 3 slot opening in the a/c control panel. I blew some compressed air in and no more buzzing. Will see if it works over time.
