V70 2001 SUNROOF GRINDING NOISE / SOMETIMES NOT CLOSE

Can you please help... Purchased a 2001 volvo v70 wagon. Was made aware that sunroof was not used to avoid getting stuck /repair cost. My wife and I gave it a go to find that it works, but very slugish and rough noise. Sometimes it will not close all the way. Our 2 year old daughter is amazed and would like to cont to use but afraid. Maintenace? Repair ? Common ? Don't use to avoid $ Thankful for any advice....

It could be anything from an obstacle in the tracks (small stone, anything), to misaligned cables, misaligned motor, broken track, etc
