That makes sense and at least it is a pump that we can use on the AWD's that will hopefully mean no replacement needed for a long time!

I implemented the TI pump into the Kat this week. This took some modification.

It’s a Walbro GRJ444 pump made by TI

The pump sits inside a long plastic tube , and unlike the FWD pump , the seal to the fuel line is accomplished by squeezing a conical sleeve into a silicone receiver in the housing.

The TI pump is slightly longer than the original, so I had to trim the plastic guide snout to rationalize
The sock is slightly different on the bottom, secure with a drop of epoxy on two sides

Wiring plug is different and the case ground is no longer needed. You do need to ground the fuel lines though using the ground lug.

My pump wires had failed at the external connector so I made a through hull wire connector with a piece of CuNiForm and an epoxy plug of about 5 cm to seal

Plan B..one could also figure out how to connect o the tapered output snout of the pump and then run fuel line to direct connect the pump to the metal output line.

V70 XC Pumps are a tough find. AutoHausAZ says that this Walbro is in stock and fits the 2000 XC.

https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/WA-300710606

Query: Does the 2000 XC have the fuel pump with the copper tubes running from the plastic pump housing to the face plate at the top of the tank or does it have the plastic pump housing that goes from the face plate down to the bottom of the tank with a rubber hose from the face plate to the pump module inside of the plastic pump housing?

I have a 1999 XC which has the former style.

Take care and stay safe,

Brian

I believe all the XC and R models use that former style you refer to above

The autohaus link takes you to a wrong pump for a p80 XC or R ( AWD) car. Bit of confusion to clear up , early R cars are FWD, later AWD. The autohaus fitment table is incorrect.

The right pump is here, at $108 2022

Vintage Radio Shack multimeter !
You're going to force me to casually leave my old Fluke in a pic now.
I think Robert did something similar to his Cincinnati 850T5R when he installed a high-volume pump recently.
