15097 is what I bought for my 1996. It works fine. I don't recall if there were any physical differences between the original and new, or not.

I didn't watch the video mentioned, although I did watch one of Robert's videos before doing the job. The connectors are definitely not what I'm used to using.

15097 is the direct, factory replacement - that's the one to get.

Any tricks for plug and unplug? I've read that it is hard to get to and does anything have
to be removed to access it. I don't have the car here and just want to be ready for the job.

Thanks all,
Pete

On my '96, i think I just removed the MAF inlet tube so I had better access, but I'm not sure if you need to. The two o2 sensor plugs hang out around the heater hose cam sensor area. Just follow the wire from below. The plugs have a red top sliding lock set-up. You just slip a small screw driver between the red top and the body of the plug. Top will slid out.

Thanks very much, I watched Robert's video again and I do see what you're saying.
Okay I think we're ready to do it.

Thanks again everyone!

+1 on the Abscate Mantra, propane is fine, you're not trying to melt anything, just get its attention so it will accept more juice and release the rust grip.
Since you're replacing it anyway, cut the wire and use a conventional (impact) socket if need be. Going back you need the cutout flare nut style.
The usual warnings about treating the plastic connectors gently apply. Old stuff gets brittle.

Turbo MAF angles back, but NA angles forward. I don't see any reason why to remove any of the air intake on an NA car. The wiring is fiddly though. There's the connector but also a retainer midway on the wire, that was a bit difficult to manipulate, too.

I cleared the code and it finally came back.
I know that one of the 2 sensors was changed about 8 years 100K miles ago, and I take it this is about time for
a new one or both.
I just bought it, might as well change it.

I read about how experts watch the voltage from the O2 sensors in their scan tools in order to determine
if there is anything wrong with them. I know nothing about how to do this and was wondering if there's a
video anywhere showing what to look for and how to diagnose problems with O2 sensors.

You need a scope or fast tool to watch the front OXS swing back and forth, it’s fast, like 5 Hz or something like that
