I have perhaps north of $3k invested into skid plates for of all my vehicles. Peace of mind is priceless. I even went ahead and welded an under-the-bumper 14 GA stainless steel cage around radiators on my XC70 for extra peace of mind ;) It can hit a tree, run over a boulder and still get back home.
