I leased this car in 2003, a year old new, for three years, 36,000 miles. After the lease term I decided to buy it because we had no trouble in that time. The car now is 5 years old and has about 60,000 mi. and still no real problems to speek of.
The only repeat repair I have had to make were the front and rear drop links (sway bar links) twice. and I am about to replace them again.
I would buy another XC 70 in a minute.
Good luck

Thanks for the information. I have had the same trouble with my '93 850. I understand that the Vovlo swaybar bushings and the endlinks are a weak point on alot of the models.

If I had decided to keep my 850 I would have condsidered replacing the endlinks with the aftermarket ones that are available. My car needed them, again, but I decided to sell it for a XC. The first time they were replaced we used Volvo bushings and endlinks....they did not last.

You might want to consider the after market adjustable endlinks as they were recommended to me with the highest praise.

Not sure whether they have one for your model, but they are worth a look definietly.

Good luck...adios,

IPD also now sells heavy duty links (both front and back now for later models). I do agree that the OEM/Volvo links are a weak (and sore) spot. At least upgrade to IPD's...they have like a 3 year (maybe more) warranty now...if you can afford it, the QB's are even better, but may be over-kill.
