Do I absolutely have to take off the intake manifold to change the oil trap? Ive done quite a bit of maintenance to cars over the years, but have never taken off an intake manifold. This sounds daunting! Can anyone give me more specific instructions about taking the intake manifold off? What things should I avoid doing / make sure to do? Thanks!

Unless your arms bend below your elbows, the manifold must come off. If you follow the directions it is not very hard. Just take your time and make sure you know where every bolt is when you take it off. cover the intake on the engine with tape or rags so you do not drop a bolt in.
