Switch Doctor advertises the S/V series switches as OEM (Many people list things as OEM so I am always skeptical).

I found the for real OEM switch for less money at www.Tascaparts.com (around $104.00).

I have had a Switch Doctor master switch still in the box. I bought one but when it arrived it was really plasticy compared to the OE part. I found a good OE switch and fitted it instead and the SD one is still in the box 8 years later.

…and a year later I am a customer. For $25 vs $160 new, I’m in.

Fit and finish are excellent, electrical connections perfect, function perfect

Will report on longevity.

Since I have 6 1999s, I bought two.

Installed on the T5, five minutes. Popped old one out with a scout knife. Original replaced in 2008?

Happy Spring!

Hey Abscate, just stumbled across this post. i just replaced mine with switchdoctor also. i did the swap on april 27th. in about a week after the install (of which i probably only used my windows like 3 times maybe) the driver window switch stopped working. it would start working again after i turned off the car and back on again. i emailed switchdoctor support on may 2nd and had a replacement in the car by May 7th! Their warranty support was fantastic! at least that is my experience. i wish they had a switch for the other 3 doors.

Those other three doors are junkyard specials. I’ve got a ton of them. They never break due to low duty cyvle

Yeah I can see that. But the switchdoctor ones function so nice. Nice smooth, light clicks

They have clearly improved their product over the years as those look nothing like the one I bought all those years ago. I just replaced an aftermarket one in my friends car a couple of days ago. About a year old I'm told. It was still working but the driver's door switch had come loose.

Update, first unit failed 14dats after install. I’ll chase warranty this week. Using my second one in meantime 😎

Here is some info for driver door switch bypassing. Putting +-12 volts across A3 and A4 on the driver door switch plug will operate the window up/down if the switch goes out. This won’t fix a jammed window or bad motor of course.
