Still Looking for PCM to Arrive...

I'm checking on PCM part # and curious what the right part # is for my '97 850R Automatic

I found a PDF which lists numbers but non seem to match my PCM's part #0 261 203 628...

what is the difference between 850R and a 850 T5R???

Is it in winter mode ( starting in 2nd) or not shifting at all and starting in 3rd?

it looks like it shifts from what the Tach acts like... I bought the car with the Turbo removed and laying in the trunk and the guy I got it from said that it kept getting stuck in winter mode. The arrow on the dash blinks and from I've been told it's not winter mode but rather Limp mode...

The PCM that was on order finally came in only to be the wrong part # and the blinking arrow was on as soon as the car was fired up. It kinda makes me believe that the TCM is more related to the problem... Hopefully the right PCM will be here today...

Another PCM showed up and it has the correct part # and I installed it and the Limp Mode appears to be gone for now... As I stated before the car is not registered or insured so my windshield time has been short driving around the neighborhood. It now appears to have the "ABS" and "Tracs Off" Lights on and sometimes they'll go out??? My service light still illuminates for appx. 120 Seconds then goes out... Is there a way to reset the service light manually??? I also have a thumping noise from the right front strut and need to remove it and see what needs to be replaced. I also will be replacing all four tires due to age(cars been sitting since 1994) with new one's and hopefully get some longer time behind the wheel to see if all of the onboard test will complete so I can get it inspected...

Tracs off and abs is most likely a sensor on the front wheel - it detects wheel spin and lockup for the tracs and abs, and probably a little screwy from sitting so long. But 850's do eat abs modules at an alarming rate, i'm told :-)

It looks like I'll be looking for the sensors while I have the Wheels off to get new rubber... If the ABS module is out would the lights come and go or just be on all of the time??? Is there anything I can do to Manually turn off the service light that comes on at start up then goes out 120 Seconds later???

Thanks,

There are various reset tools out there for the service light, others will know more than me about it. I use the very sophisticated pices of black tape over the light method. Search it here, i'm sure someone has a lik

Went out for a test drive and only have 4 issues:

Service light for 120 Seconds
Speedometer works but trip Odometer and Odometer do not work???
One light in radio is out and most of the lights in rocker switches are out as well...
Both Keyless remotes don't work, batteries are new but no signal coming out...

Service light, there are only 3 solutions:
1 take out the bulb and throw it away (or use it for another, burnt out one)
2 black tape over the front plastic
3 pay someone, either a shop or someone who sells the Draper reset tool.
I always go with solution 1.

Odometer: this is a very common problem, you need to buy a new gear and swap it in. While you have the cluster out, remove the Service bulb. See
Odometer fix how to
although personally I do not like "bending" the top cover so I always take it all the way off.

Bulbs: do a search. Radio bulb is slightly tricky, but the rocker switches are trivially cheap and easy. E.g.

Keyless remotes probably just need to be programmed, see
