The part #s in the photo above is for 1997 850s. Please check that you're buying the correct part if your Volvo is other than the this model/year.

Did this job a few weeks ago on my 2003 S60. Went pretty smooth. Rented the inner tie rod end removal tool from AutoZone but it did not fit the old tie rods. Ended up using a big a** pipe wrench which worked great. Hardest part was getting the rack boots on -- it was kind of hard to get my hands back in there. One tip from an old gear head helped a lot. He said put a little grease on the inside edge of the front of the boot. Once I did hat they slipped on pretty easy. Also helped to take the front skid plate off so I could get my hand on the boot from he bottom.

New nut, 70 Newton Metres or about 50 Ft lbs for the outer tie rod end nut.
The lock nut just needs to be firmed up the tie rod end

Abscate - When you say outer tie rod end nut at 50 ft lbs, are you referring to the nut with the cotter pin?abscate wrote:New nut, 70 Newton Metres or about 50 Ft lbs for the outer tie rod end nut.
