I believe most TRW and ZF steering rack have similar setup.
In my 1998 BMW 528i, the INNER Tierod needs the 32-mm wrench ($15 online).
Now if you own a BMW, then you will know the tool, it is the same tool used to loosen the Fan Clutch Nut in the BMW.

The granddaddy "inner tie rod removal tool" is the simple pipe wrench.
Cheap, easy to use, you likely already have one, and on these cars it will work every time.

Getting ready to attack the inner tie rod end.
Has anyone out there looked at replacing the oil seal on the rack where the "piston" comes out of the rack ?
Daughter has been running without PS as it leaks so badly that it won't keep the fluid in.

There have been several posts about this recently on Volvospeed. You can do the passenger's side with the rack in the car, but not the driver's. I'll try to look up a link later tonight and post it if no one else has by then ...
