Hey all, The bpps isn't my problem. I swapped it with my 99 and it didn't change a thing. I would like to know if the software is different from 99 to 2000 turbo non turbo ? I have a etm from a 99 non turbo and I also have a etm from a 99 turbo. will either of these work on my 2000 turbo ? Or am I able to swap parts from one to another and make a funtioning etm ? any advice would help Thanks

I have another question,in the intake tube from the iter cooler to the etm there are two sensors what are they for ? and what do they do ? could this be my problem ? the car run better when the EST light is on and like crap when the light goes off

It seems the turbo P80 ETMs can go straight into the P2 series turbo cars as long as both are auto and vice-versa

P2 series NA cars have totally different programming to all other ETM cars and actually use a different ETM part number

However you can't place a P80 V70 NA '00 5 Speed ETM into a P80 V70 NA '99 4 speed and probably vice versa

The S80T6s ETMs seem to be able to go straight into a '99NA 4 speed (had one in my own '99 NA 4 speed auto, though it was sent from an unknown source and it was more likely a non-turbo S80 it was derived from)

A V70 '00 NA 5 speed auto will not go into a S80 6 cylinder NA

As far as the sensors on the intake tube they can be problems and will cause codes (not ETM codes) . I think one of them is the IAT sensor (intake air temp) and the other is the MAP (atmospheric pressure sensor)

Thanks for the sensor clear up. I removed the etm to check and clean it ,but it's clean and I don't see a problem with it as far as that goes . it is a yellow tag which means it's been replaced...correct ? so I plugged in the 99 turbo etm and with the key on engine off it closed and went back to (what I would call the park position) but when stepping on the gas pedal doesn't move .$15 scrap yard part .so I checked the etm from the 99 non turbo and it shut and returned to the park position and responded when I stepped on the gas pedal. is this a good sign ? or am I just dreaming and should just replace the etm with a Xemodex and be over with it, It's a bear of a job as far as where it's located, there no room for the hands.

If it was from a '99 turbo 4 speed it should have throttle plate movement. However if it was from an NA whether 5 or 4 speed it will not work.

It was from a 99 NA 5 speed but responded to pedal movement ? could it be the (map sensor)turbo pressure sensor and not the ETM at all. after a little more reading in the eXmodex install tips it says that the (map) is extremly sesitive .this went bad on me about 8 months ago and I replaced it with a scrap yard one .maybe it's gone bad ? only ETS light no check engine

I can plug any ETM into my 2000 V70 NA (and I have plugged all combinations in)

That ETM will not run your car unless you program it. My post 2 posts prior tells you what you can and can't do between models.

It's the MAF (not the MAP) that XeModex are talking about with regard to ETM sensitivity. Is this what is 2nd hand?

I think they are saying MAP (turbo pressure sensor)

It doesn't appear on the diagnostic flowchart. Which documentation are you referring to? It's certainly not on their website either.
