2000 V70R heater fan

Many thanks guys for your help and guidance. Just finished prepping the 93 850GLT for sale (my wife says 4 Volvos is 1 too many). I'm hoping to get to the V70R next week and use all the advice that has been passed to me.

Have spent some time looking into this and still can't find the issue. Pulled the heater fan, resistor pack and temp sensor. Put the nose to them and can't smell any 'funky' /burning plastic smell.
Cleaned it all out in that area, and then pulled the cabin filter (had no been changed since 2006!!). Both jobs were a pain as you have to remove the strut brace on this care, and some fool installed a 2nd CD player in the glove box, which has to be removed (and a pain to refit).

Stink is still there. Smell is clearly coming from the cabin vents and seems to be stongest in the middle 2. Tried the heating system on resurculation mode and initiall the smell seemed lest but returned.

I have bought some fridge fresh spray from GM and will bomb the system to see if it is contaminated. Plan to also look at the drain to make sure it is draining. Any other thoughts out there?

While you have it all apart, wash everything relating to the air intake, cowl down to the evaporator with a solution of bleach and water.
Soak a rag and wipe everything.
Repeat, let thoroughly dry and THEN use your Frigee Fresh
