Does this sound like a bad control arm?

I've had bad luck - 1-2 years max with anything but Volvo OEM. And they're only $121 from Darrell Waltrip Volvo. As for the engine lift, I only swapped out 3 of 4 bolts and re-used that last one blocked by the oil pan. As for pre-loading, with the four bolt version, you need to lift the arm into place to thread the bolts so I can't see that being an issue.
