Ok I pulled an xc70 front bumper today because the only other two black S70 front bumpers were in worse shape than the one I am trying to replace. I know some people like to do fascia upgrades to make cars look like other models, in fact the XC70 grill seems to be very popular for people to put on regular wagons. So I already put thex70 hood on as you can see, the grill was already gone, So I reused the V/S70 grill from the original hood. I havent put on the bumper yet but I want everybody's opinion.
After I put this bumper on the cars front end will be a cross between the xc70 and V. Should I go full xc70 and put one of the two xc70 grills on so it matches the bumper? Or should I go with the hybrid look,I also intend to put a set of the xc70 roof rails on the V because I just believe the cars look naked without them. I intend to keep the bumper anyway so I can give the new owner the option of going back to stock, and of course the roof rails are reversible as well. My question: Am I messing up a great car, am I being over-sensitive, will people other than obsessives like us even notice? Should I just shut up and post pics when Im done?

I added a pics of the back seats just because I havent seen a backseat look that creamy in a long time, This interior was taken extremely well care of
Only real flaw is a couple of cracks on the drivers seat

my personal aesthetic sense would rather deal with something damaged or worn than something mismatched. my mind accepts wear and tear; an unpainted bumper on a car with otherwise painted trim sets off the OCD klaxons.

but that's just me. it's all a matter of preference. in the past i've swapped out clean but "wrong" trim for ratty but "right" trim and had people ask what was wrong with me, so maybe my preferences are abnormal.

let me just take a moment to reiterate how jealous i am of your car.

Nice grab. I wish you could keep it.

I'm not a big fan of the XC bumper so I think the current look is fine.

thats the type of feedback i wanted to hear, One of the S70 junkyard bumpers wasnt that bad really, its just that the xc bumpers age better because they have more plastic, less paint, so less paces for the paint to flake, scratch, or just look bad. I had another rear S70 bumper that I used for my $5 core charge, so I will include the original bumper with the car when I eventually sell it.

funny because I was leaving the yard, a black 99 v70 was being towed on its way in. If I was patient I could have probably gone today or tomorrow and got the proper bumper. I hope the seats are the same olive (not light tan) so I can grab the drivers seat, as of course you cant use seats from 98 and prior as the SRS and SIPS systems changed in 99.
heres some pics from a distance
to me it looks ok

If you paint it to match the body side molding and bumper then it would look much better. It would give it an aggressive look kind of like the Audi front ends.

I seen a '99 R in the yard here that had the older style seat airbags with the trigger on the sides. Maybe they had been swapped in, I don't know.

I was thinking about taking the lower seat skin off of a passenger side and putting it on the drivers side.
