Rollers and mechanical tensioner are oem.Ina & Fag doesn't make belts,so one of the belt manufacturers have a contract with them.

Man, if I were you I would put the cover back on and would not check it again until it was time to change it in 80,000 miles. People get to worked up with all this stuff. You still have more than 75% of the belt left.

Just kidding, change all of that stuff immediately. I doubt I would even start it again. Only use:
1. OEM or INA rollers.
2. OEM, Contitec, or Gates belts.
3. Asian water pump.
4. Asian or INA tensioner.
It's just to critical of a system to take chances.

Maybe the next Goodyear Belt will be better.

Just kidding. I paid the price...

I agree, car is grounded.

Rockauto refers to an 'engine number' of 3188688 and before for the belt. I found a serial number on the timing cover, is this what it is referring to?

Thank you for the replies! Are the Conti water pumps any good? I see a lot of you go for the Aisin (or Asian lol).

I think Rock Auto sells old inventory often. Especially problematic with rubber belts and hoses. Happens that's where my famous Goodyear belt was from. Use the MVS vendors and dealerships as they understand our community best.

Personally I'd not nickle and dime this job. Use the best parts.
I posted the DIY for my 1998 S70, see link below.
Just ignore the part on hydraulic tensioner and substitute the procedure for mechanical tensioner since your 2000 model runs on mechanical tensioner .

DIY: 1998 Volvo S70 Timing Belt, WP, Cam Seals, SB Overhaul
https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... hp?t=53722

Again: Conti TB only (stay away from Gates etc. b/c you don't save much money, the risk is here for Gates etc., search forum for belt tracking issues).
WP: Aisin (not Asian lol...rpsi). But Aisin is an Asian company so haha...

I think you beat around the bush quite a bit. That kit is fine but what is the brand of the WP in that kit? Seems like HEPU, not bad but Aisin is better.
Again, you gain nothing buying that kit.

The TB kit is $120 from Volvo dealer.
The Aisin WP is $60-$65.
