How to Repair falling headliner

If you glue the headliner in place the glue will always show through.
Tacks are good but looks tacky.

My Volvo had the headliner falling down everywhere...740
If you could tuck the liner back in its place under the molding then push in a rounded cord right in behind then the headliner will stay tight locked in place.

Recently on failing A-Pillars on V70's and S60's I use a double sided tape...you scrape off the foam backing just on the edge and use this...it worked well and didn't show through like the glue. I would think that this might be a good solution (at leas temporarily) for the headliner as well. here is what I got:
