Yeah and how much to ship it? i
I sure hope it's local
That R was totaled and the damage is MUCH MORE than $1500
Double that if you're lucky. It MUST go on a frame machine at a body shop before you even think about installing a subframe

Including shipping, Found another one for 170 also including shipping.
Checked with a friend whi works at Volvo Parts, he said that ll the subframes from 01 to 08 no matter tubo or non turba are the same frames.

What makes you think it has to go to a frame machine? I really didn't think the damage is that bad and never thought about what you said however I will keep in mind. Thanks for your input.

As I said, if it was hit hard enough to damage the subframe, it was hit hard enough to move those forward rails the subframe mounts to.

If the frame rails aren't straight, you are going to have a messed up car.

You could be right but i don't think the rails are damaged with this kind of impact since the bushings should give some flexibility to the crossmember. I will update you guys and keep this thread going, wish me the best :)

That isn't that bad I think you'll be fine. When I was looking for mine 1.5 years ago had I come across that I would have jumped on it, saved about 3 or 4 g's and kept myself busy for a couple weeks. Pick n pull/LKQs around Chicago get P2s in regularly, probably everything for around $400. I don't know what you'd find around Louisiana in this respect. Used good condition should be fine for everything except the radiator I would buy new.

With regard to putting it on a frame machine you'll know when installing the new subframe if the bolt holes in the center of the bushes don't want to line up with the threads on the frame rails, or the new subframe doesn't sit flat to the rails at the 4 corners. If you have to manipulate things with a crow bar to get these to line up/start the bolts you can take it to the frame shop after it's back together.

I agree the subframe bushes would have absorbed much of the brunt. I would estimate speed of impact at around 20mph from what I see there.
Do be sure to inspect the rack/steering column. The subframe would have been jolted rearward during the collision. I'm not sure how much the lower/middle steering shafts can take. I know these are designed to collapse/break away in a major collision so that the column doesn't end up pushed into/pinning the driver, where and how I don't know. In a moderate collision of this nature you probably want to get a close look at these just to be sure it's all ok.
