How does one actuate the ABS pump in VIDA? I just got a system (2014D) and am working to install it today to try and troubleshoot this.

Goto diagnostic, vehicle communication, select BCM, open activations tab, activate all valves a few times.

THANKS! does the car need to be running in order to do this, or just the key in position 2? Also, how long do the valves stay open? Do I need to do this when i bleed each caliper? Or just once after I install new ABS pump?

Just the key in position II. Valves are triggered for 2-3 seconds. I bled out all trapped air through one caliper, rest of calipers didn't have any air even after ABS modulation.

Ok. What is the best method to do this? open bleeder valve and then modulate the ABS through VIDA?

Attach bleeder device, create some pressure (I did 2 BARs), modulate ABS, open valve. Repeat a few times.

Sounds easy enough. Thanks!

This is what bled my system on a 2001 XC70 to a T: A hand operated vacuum pump which eventually drew out some flat ale me hearties!! :D

All the activations in Vida including ABS pump activation didn't help at all.

I finally figured out how to add attachments here. top to bottom in the photos is the motor, with the seal, and the pump with the seal still attached to it after i initially removed the motor.

Does anyone know how to get the seal back on the motor? There are a few dozen little nodules in the inside of the upper part of the seal that somehow go into the corresponding holes on the motor. Major PITA to get reinstalled, hence my big leg Emma dilemma.

Is it possible you are overthinking it? That seal isnt a hydraulic seal, just a dust seal. I think I would just position it on the motor and then bolt it back to the pump head
