Try this--will take 5 minutes. If it isn't the problem it at least isn't some huge time consuming thing...

In the diagram it appears the door and hatch switches are wired in a series and have a chassis ground connection/ring terminal behind the lower access panel (inside the car) where you access the LH rear taillight bulbs. Black wire.

You mentioned it acts up/alarms when it rains. Youtube video showing lamp replacement (Robert doesn't zoom out or pan down just quite far enough to show this ground wire) you can see on the V70 he is changing bulbs that it is damp in there when he removes the access panels. Both sides have a ground point at this location, but only the ground on the LH side is tied into the alarm circuit.

Note this connection also grounds the rear tail lamps on that side. Have you ever noticed the tail/stop/reverse lights on that side being intermittent or dimmer than the right side?

Try tightening it down with a dab of conductive anti-seize applied both to the threaded hole and on the bolt threads. Or extend and relocate the ground wire somewhere else.

Problem could me in the rear lid latch. The wiring harness in the rear lid is also known to give trouble.

We're getting more and more of this lately. I would definitely check the rear hatch wiring.
