PIAA silicone are an absolute revolution. They work way better, coat the windshield in a film that makes water bead up, and last 2-5x longer than any other blades. I have been putting them on all my cars for ~10 years now and I find they last for several years at least.

I don't drive much, and not much rain around the summer. But sure use them a lot in winter time, cold, ice (glued on the windshield), salt, dirt, road abrasives, anything goes.
I change them ever 1-2 years. I've used RAIN-X Weatherbeater for summer and Michelin Stealth Ultra for winter (very quiet but less durable)
