I used 16 quarts and I would say it looked pretty close to the color of the tranny fluid bring poured in. I agree will drive it for a few months then reassess.

Mpls or Minneapolis is located in Minnesota.

You are doing them a big favour demystifying car maintenance, even if they don't end up,wrenching themselves

I could not agree more abscate. Knowledge is paramount to prevent unscrupulous salespeople from ripping us off, or lack of maintenance killing the car. June

Transmission fluid gets over 110 C real easy in summer, 120+ in a hot day. Degrading properties of ATF is not a problem, the problem is a few places in transmission that get overheated or oil starved because of thin hot fluid. Slack in a differential, bearing noise, pressure loss is what usually happens at the end.

Hayden transmission cooler looks good and can be mounted without piercing the other radiators.

Thanks for the suggestion! I am still bouncing around the idea of an external tranny cooler. Quick question, did you have take off the front bumper in order install the tranny cooler.

Though I do have say the car is running very smooth after the flush. Like I said before I thought it was running fine before the flush but after the flush there has been definite improvement.

Bumper removal is 10 minutes when you do it the first time. I think I can take off in under 3 minutes :)

Please describe the procedure. Are there plastic clips, mushrooms or expanding pin fasteners one should buy in advance?

The last part is because I live near a competent auto body supply house which has all the fasteners you could ever imagine mounted on the wall.....MUCH cheaper than going to the dealer or buying them in 4 packs.
