98 V70 base P0400 error code

ECM and ECu are the same.

The error codes generated by the modules are coded by the module reporting them the ECM codes usually have 5 codes for each corresponding P code. This gives you valuable info as to the failure.

Ok, I get you now. Thanks. Still baffles me how the dealer and the specialist couldn't scan those issues though?
