1998 V70 T5 2,3l Error code P0442

Post by pjcat »

I recently serviced the PCV system on our Volvo. This worked out successful (no more inflated glove) and cleared earlier error codes. But shortly after i started to have error code P0442 small evap leak. My question is, if there could be a relation between my fix of the PCV system and this error code?
And then how to tackle to get rid of it? There are many good links on this site to that problem, but to me it is not clear where to start to look first; or does it mean I have to change all the hoses from the evap canister, the purge valve, Shut-Off Valve, etc.?
Also some days ago the engine started rev up high in idle when i start the car in the morning, would stay high for maybe 20sec. and then go to normal. Any relation?
Thanks

I'd imagine that in moving all the hoses around something just has cracked or come loose. First place I would check would be the check valves and such mounted on the fan shroud. Ignore the red box, i'd check 11 and 22 and the connectors around them.
