XC-90 will not shift out of parrk

Brake light issues fixed. It looks like the car comes out of park without hitting the pedal. So my question is what part prevents you from physically shifting the car out of park by just hitting the button on the shifter ?

Could be it just needs cleaned, maybe a sticky drink spilled etc. and/or very lightly lubricated, I would use a light sewing machine oil or similar, no grease for the shaft.
