If it's an aftermarket axle with a split boot then probably time to throw it away. Much better axles at the junkyard if you can find one.

I'm not sure, but I believe my 93 850 axles are OEM. They're good and beefy and they've stood up well, though like I said, I don't put a lot of miles on that car. I recall replacing both outer boots around 2010-11. One still looks good. Saturday weather outlook: sunny and 50. We'll see
