seriously considering pulling the angle gear and/or dropping the subframe.
Didn't you say you bought the line on amazon.?
Yes, here is the line I bought on Amazon for my 2002 S60 2.4t FWD:
Sunsong 3402949 Power Steering... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073XM2F6B

So far no leaks. I can’t speak to how AWD impacts access to the rack. Connection was on driver side rear of my rack. Mine definitely did not require dropping down the subframe. I did remove a shield that was below the cat as it was just in the way and only four bolts and a few clips. I also bent up a shield that was across the rack to aid in line routing removal/ replacement.

Great time to replace that rear motor mount also…I had the parts but not the proper tools to do that job.

08 C702.5T (sold)
05 S402.4i (RIP, timing belt failure)
The non-Swedes:
25 Mazda MX-5 / 17 Frontier Pro-4X / 17 Ford Focus
17 R1200GS / 15 Versys 1000 / 11 DR-Z400S / 07 R1200GSA

Not a great photo but gives an idea of the access laying under the car. 1/2” crows foot socket with extension and some contortions and it is doable.

No, did not request them. Not sure there is a way to ask for them ahead of the order. Mine came is a huge box with no caps on the ends…one end poking through the box. Fortunately not dinged or gouged so went with it.
