Thanks to everyone for mentioning that Cardone racks are bad. I'm in the market for one and will avoid these like the plague.

So, it looks like I'll have to replace the steering rack. (I'd also like to find out if it was a Cardone, as I was originally told, or a BBB Industries, as I was told most recently.)

I see that TRW racks are backordered on FCP with no estimated date, but they do have a remanufactured Maval, while iPd has a new AAE (new, not reman, per their customer service rep).

I started a new thread to discuss all currently available racks, their prices, and quality. I'm trying to surface that info for future reference so it's not missed deep in this thread. It refers back to this thread about Cardone (and BBB?) failures.
